About us

The Digital Dentistry Research Group (DDRG) is a newly established research cluster under the Faculty of Dentistry, Universiti Malaya, dedicated to pioneering innovation and excellence in the field of digital dental science. Formed in response to the growing integration of digital technology in dental practice and education, this research group brings together experts and emerging scholars with a shared vision to transform the future of dentistry through digital advancements

Our Team

Our Aim

The primary aim of DDRG is to explore, develop, and apply cutting-edge digital technologies to enhance patient care, clinical efficiency, and dental education. Our research encompasses areas such as digital imaging, 3D printing, artificial intelligence in diagnostics, CAD/CAM applications, virtual treatment planning, and immersive learning tools including augmented and virtual reality.

Our Future Plans

Looking ahead, DDRG aspires to become a leading centre for digital dental innovation in the region. We aim to foster interdisciplinary collaborations, secure national and international research grants, and contribute impactful research to high-impact journals. We are also committed to translating our research into clinical practice and educational tools, ensuring that digital dentistry becomes an integral part of modern dental healthcare and curriculum development.
