Introduction
This research group was initiated with the aim of improving the multidisciplinary craniofacial services in both clinical and research aspects in Universiti Malaya. The multidisciplinary team was informally established in middle of 2011 with close collaboration between Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Medicine and University of Malaya Medical Center and to date, has received more than 200 complex craniomaxillofacial deformities cases from all over the country.

These cases include isolated and syndromic craniosynostosis such as Apert, Pfeiffer and Crouzon syndromes, and orofacial congenital conditions such as hemifacial microsomia, Pierre Robin sequence, Nager and Treacher Collins syndrome. The current multidisciplinary group involves oral and maxillofacial surgery, neurosurgery, pediatric respiratory, pediatric geneticist, pediatric ophthalmology, anesthesiology, pediatric otorhinolaryngology, orthopedic hand and microvascular surgery, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry and mathematic division of Centre for Foundation Studies in Science.

The availability of osteodistraction systems has opened up new horizon in tissue engineering research in the field of craniomaxillofacial surgery. The research group is actively involved with technological advancement in healthcare industry that includes computerized surgical simulation and patient specific implants, 3D biomodel fabrication as well as exploring various craniomaxillofacial prototypes and integrating artificial intelligence into clinical application.

Objectives
